Hines Ward Questions His QB

Ben Roethlisberger sat out last week's game with complications related to head trauma. This has been a frowing top of conversation for years and has increased dramatically this season, with many top players having some sort of concussion-like hits.
It was surprising to me that with all of the concern about long-term effects of these types of hits, that Hines Ward would call out his star quarterback for not making it back into the next game after getting dinged the week before.
Has Big Ben's toughness been questioned before? Not that I can remember. I always thought of him as a guy that stood in there and took the shots and got back up to play again.
You can see how quickly these guys turn on their "boys" when something doesn't go the way they want or expect it. Ward and Super Bowl MVP Santonio Holmes, who also spoke to the media about Ben sitting out, both retracted their statements, probably after getting taken to task by the team's management.

Big Ben Adds Another Title to Resume

Great quarterbacks come in lots of shapes and sizes. Big Ben Roethlisberger comes by his name honestly. He is tough to bring down because he is so big and just agile enough to keep alive in the pocket to make plays out of nothing. He did that time and again last night in Tampa. Roethlisberger didn't win the MVP, which he deserved as much as Holmes, but he put himself into a very elite category with another Lombardi Trohpy in his case. He also put himself into Super Bowl lore with a two-minute drive that won the game!
Ben Roethlisberger fits in Pittsburgh better than any other QB fits the persona of his team's town, even better than Favre in Green Bay. Ben doesn't get it done in a pretty fashion, his blue collar style is the epitome of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

One QB Will Have 2 Super Bowl Wins at End of Day

Kurt Warner won it in 1999 and Ben Roethlisberger just two Super Bowls removed from his first NFL championship. Sunday night one of those two will add another and put himself in rare company, most of which are in the Hall of Fame.
The Arizona Cardinals will depend on Kurt Warner to drive the train for his team to be successful, while the Pittsburgh Steelers stand a good chance of winning the game if Ben Roethlisberger just stays out of trouble. That is not a knock on Bib Ben. He is very good, but it is just the make-up of his team to play it a little closer to the vest and let the defense take care of the other team's offense.
The Cardinals defense has shown throughout the playoffs that they are no slouch unit, but it is the wide-open offense, triggered by Warner's quick decisions and release that make most of the headlines.
While I love offense and am very comfortable in the Cardinals style offense, I do understand the history of this game favors the better defense and in this case I believe it will be Ben Roethlisberger hoisting the Lombardi Trophy once again.
